This is the large, multi-day "end of the summer" meet put on by GKAISA (the governing body behind summer swim programs in Knoxville). In order to swim in this meet your swimmer must have attended at least 2 out of 4 of our meets this summer. The Junkfest meet DOES count toward this number. This meet will be held on July 28th- July 30th.

Swimmers "10 and under" swim on Thursday for preliminaries (starts at 3pm).

Swimmers "11 and over" swim on Friday for preliminaries (starts at 9am).

The top 16 qualifying times return on Saturday, July 23rd (starts at 9am).

It is $20 per swimmer to enter into the event and parking passes are $10/day. There is also free parking 1 mile away if you wish you walk.

Job descriptions

1. *stroke and turn judges: NEED AT LEAST 2. This requires special certification. I believe there are 7 of you that have taken the course and just need to pass the online test. Please let me know when you have passed the test and if you can volunteer at one or both meets

2. Relay take-off judge: NEED AT LEAST 2. Observes relay take-off and calls infractions as directed by the referee. This is not a huge time commitment as its only during the relay portion of the meet.

3. Finish and Overcall judges: NEED 3. Calls order of finish and fills out ballot, may be asked to call relay take-offs at the finish end of the pool.

4. Head timer: NEED 1. Oversees lane timers, signals Starter that Timers are ready for even to start, and provides back-up timing for Lane Timers.

5. Lane Timer: NEED 7. Insures that proper swimmer in their lane prior to event start, times the event using a stopwatch, records the time on lane timer sheet.

6. Marshal: NEED 1. Maintains order around starting area, helps place swimmers in proper lanes for events

7. Runner: NEED 1. Picks up lane timer sheets and judge's sheets at conclusion of each event, delivers them to scoring table.

8. *Card Sorter: NEED 1. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO THIS! Aligns lane timer sheets in order of finish, attaches any DQ sheets to lane timer sheet, and gives lane timer sheets to scorer.

9. *Scorer: NEED 1. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU THINK YOU CAN DO THIS! Enters points earned by each team on master core sheet using lane timer sheets and judges' sheets for results, maintains running score for each team. In the case where computer scoring is being used, the Scorer operates the scoring computer.

10. Ribbon Writer: NEED 1. Fills out ribbon labels using lane timer sheets and judges' sheets for order of finish.

11. Team Parent: NEED 1. Works alongside the Marshal. Keeps swimmers in the team area during meets, calls swimmers for events and gives permission for swimmers to leave area as necessary.

12. Clerk of Course: NEED 2. Helps to line swimmers up in staging area according to the meet sheet. Then walks swimmers up behind blocks for their events. Coordinates any MIA swimmers with Team Parent.
